Why use Coconut Wax?

Coconut wax is a natural alternative to soy that holds and throws the fragrance very well. It also has a creamy white appearance with tops that are more uniform.

Does Coconut Apricot Wax small like coconut?

No our coconut wax has no hint of coconut. However we do have nice fragrances such as Santal & Coconut that when added throw a beautiful coconut scent.

The main differences between soy wax and coconut wax lie in their source, texture, scent throw, burn quality, and cost. Here's a breakdown to help you decide which is better suited for your candles:

🌱 Source and Composition

Soy Wax:
- Made from hydrogenated soybean oil.
- Natural, renewable, and biodegradable.
- Often has additives (like paraffin or palm) in cheaper blends.
Coconut Wax:
- Derived from cold-pressed coconut oil
- Also natural, renewable and biodegradable
- Softer and creamier than soy.

🕯️ Appearance & Texture

Soy Wax:
- Has a more matte or frosted appearance.
- Firmer texture.
- Prone to “frosting” (white crystalline uneven patches).
Coconut Wax:
- Creamy, smooth, and more opaque.
- Softer, even at room temperature.
- Less prone to frosting.

👃 Scent Throw

Soy Wax:
- Good hot and cold scent throw, but can struggle with certain fragrance oils.
- Needs curing (usually 7–14 days) for best scent.
Coconut Wax:
- Superior cold and hot scent throw.
- Requires less curing time.
- Excellent for complex or subtle fragrances.

🔥 Burn Quality

Soy Wax:
- Clean, slow burn.
- Can be finicky with tunneling or uneven burn if not wicked properly.
Coconut Wax:
- Extremely clean, long, and even burn.
- Burns cooler and holds fragrance longer.

💰 Cost & Availability

Soy Wax:
- More affordable and widely available.
- Great for beginner or large-scale production.
Coconut Wax:
- More expensive due to limited production and higher-quality performance.
- Often used in high-end luxury candles.

Best Use:

Use soy wax for affordability and eco-conscious branding.
Use coconut wax (or a coconut-soy blend) for premium, high-performance, luxury candles.

Do you use essential oils in your candles?

Our fragrances are infused with natural essential oils. We only use fragrances that are phthalate and toxin free with no added mutagens or reproductive toxins. Our fragrances also adhere to the California Prop-65 list.

How do I prevent my candle from tunneling?

Try to allow your candle to burn for 2-3 hours the first time, or until the melt pool reaches the edges of the vessel. This will prevent tunneling and give you a clean even burn for the life of the candle. With coconut wax, there may be some of the candle that adheres to the glass sides, however it quickly burns away as the candle burns.

Should I trim my candle wicks?

Trim your candle wicks to 1/4" before each use. This will help prevent soot and extend the life of the candle.
