Rose Candle, Soap & Apothecary was born in my kitchen from a desire to reconnect with creativity and calm during the early days of the pandemic. As a former nurse practitioner, the research and science came easily, and kept me busy. I found myself going down rabbit holes day after day to find and source the best jars, packaging and healthiest ingredients I could find.  Before long I was crafting candles, soaps, and skincare products by hand. 

My first goal was to make an elegant more clean smelling candle that  I could give as Christmas gifts to my large family that year.  As I've told a few people since - one trip to Hobby Lobby and it was love at first candle! That first candle turned out so perfectly and I thought "how hard can this be?" But like most things, to get really good at anything requires time, effort, research-and in my case a lot of candle wicks! 

I didn't plan on selling my products but what started as a personal creative project soon found its place in the world. We began selling at local Austin markets, where customers responded positively to our clean candle smells and performance. Many mentioned our elegant packaging and branding—but also that they appreciated the craftsmanship, clean ingredients, and our commitment to natural, eco friendly products and sustainability.

I later became interested in soap making and skincare after being inspired by other artists and makers at markets around Austin.  Our soaps have become just as popular as our candles and I love the fact that I sell a product that is so natural and useful to people.
